Hungary Turkey prediction 2025-03-23

Hungary vs Turkey prediction: EUROPE: UEFA Nations League – League A/B – Relegation betting tips on match 2025-03-22 17:00.
[p]After losing 3-1 in Thursday’s UEFA Nations League promotion/relegation play-off first leg, Hungary have it all to do in the return fixture against Turkey and must end a three-match winless home run (D3) if they’re to stand any chance of preserving their place in League A. That looks a tall order for Marco Rossi’s team as they have won only two of their last ten fixtures (D3, L5) and have not recorded a home victory since June.[/p]

[p]As if their task wasn’t difficult enough, Hungary must also play this match at the Puskás Aréna without key midfielders András Schäfer and Zsolt Nagy, who picked up yellow cards in Istanbul and are suspended as a result. Both offer a threat going forward, with Schäfer scoring their only goal on Thursday and Nagy registering two assists in the group phase, absences that Hungary can ill afford after they failed to score more than once in each of their last four home games.  [/p]

[p]Turkey will also be without Thursday’s deadlock breaker Orkun Kökçü through suspension, but they sit in a far more comfortable position after their strong second-half performance. Victory in the first leg was their fourth in six matches (D1, L1), but there are warning signs on the road for Vincenzo Montella’s men, with their last eight such outings producing just a single victory (D3, L4).[/p]

[p]The Crescent-Stars have also been beaten in each of their last three away H2Hs, but they may be confident of ending that streak as victory in the first leg was their first over Hungary at any venue since 2007 (D1, L4)! And with a two-goal cushion, they can even afford to lose this game by a one-goal margin and still secure their place in League A for the first time.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Dominik Szoboszlai scored the only goal when these sides met in Budapest last March, and he was also on target in Hungary’s last home game. Oğuz Aydın impressed in the first leg, marking his first competitive appearance for Turkey with two assists.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Turkey have failed to score the first goal in any of their last nine away games (W2, D3, L4).[/p]
