Inter Bayern Munich prediction 2022-09-07

Inter vs Bayern Munich prediction: EUROPE: Champions League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2022-09-06 19:00.
In a repeat of the 2010 UEFA Champions League (UCL) final, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich raise the curtain on the ‘group of death’, otherwise known as Group C. Inter ran out 2-0 winners on that landmark occasion, but after a 3-2 defeat in the Milan Derby on Saturday, confidence will surely be a little depleted for the Italians who now look to tip the H2H balance in European competition in their favour (W3, D1, L3).

Inter already find themselves off the pace in Serie A (W3, L2), though they do have a 100% winning domestic record at home so far this season. That form isn’t replicated where the UCL is concerned as they’ve won only two of their last eight home games in this tournament (W2, D2, L4), and alarmingly Inter have won just one of their last six UCL openers in which they have started their campaign at the San Siro too (D3, L2).

Inter’s home plight will be music to the ears of Bayern, who have seen all three of their European H2H wins come away from home, as part of a wider run in which there has never been a home winner in this H2H fixture! Like their hosts though, Bayern stumbled to a disappointing domestic result at the weekend, drawing 1-1 against Union Berlin, though Julian Nagelsmann did manage to rotate his squad a little.

By his own admission, Nagelsmann believes Bayern can “finish first” in this group that also contains Barcelona and Viktoria Plzeƈ, and considering Bayern are unbeaten in their previous ten meetings with Italian opposition in the UCL (W8, D2), he should be confident of a strong start here. Winning 17 of their 18 UCL group stage matches across the last three UCL terms (D1) should heighten that belief as the 2019/20 UCL winners begin their quest for more European glory!

Players to watch: Lautaro MartĂnez has opened the scoring on five of his six UCL scoring appearances, whilst one more UCL goal would see Bayern’s Sadio ManĂ© become just the fourth African player to reach 25 goals in the competition.

Hot streak: Inter’s last four games have seen the home team on the day score exactly three times.
