Inter Cagliari prediction 2025-04-12

Inter vs Cagliari prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-04-11 16:00.
[p]With no defeat across all competitions since mid-February (W8, D3), top of the table Inter Milan will look to take another step towards defending their Serie A title this weekend when they host Cagliari. Simone Inzaghi’s side are targeting a ninth successive victory as hosts, which follows three successive away fixtures (W1, D2), albeit one was against their city rivals at the San Siro.[/p]

[p]That clash with AC Milan was in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals, one of three competitions which Inter are still in the hunt for. They boosted their chances of advancing in the UEFA Champions League with a 2-1 first-leg quarter-final victory away at Bayern Munich on Tuesday too, so the prospect of matching their 2009/10 treble winning season, which remains the only time an Italian side has achieved the feat, remains alive![/p]

[p]Without any distractions, Cagliari are fully focused on their Serie A survival bid, and begin this matchday six points clear of the drop zone. The Islanders will arrive in Milan having taken four points from their last two games and keeping a clean sheet in both, but they have not managed three successive league shutouts since October 2012.[/p]

[p]Shutouts in two of their last four away matches should fuel belief they can achieve that (D2, L2), but wins on the road are another matter, with Davide Nicola’s men managing just two all season in Serie A (D5, L8). Not since 2016 have they beaten Inter at the San Siro (D2, L5), and with no victories from the last ten H2Hs home or away (D2, L8), this could be another frustrating trip for the Sardinians.[/p]

[p]Key battle: Hakan Çalhanoğlu has never lost against Cagliari (W9, D3), and has three goals and an assist across the last five H2Hs, with one of those goals rounding off the scoring in a 3-0 win in December’s reverse fixture. Looking to stop him in Cagliari’s goal will be Elia Caprile, who is targeting a third successive clean sheet but conceded twice in his only previous appearance against Inter in last season’s corresponding fixture. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Inter Milan kept one clean sheet across their last six Serie A home games (W5, D1).[/p]
