Inter vs Fiorentina prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-02-09 19:45.
[p]Inter Milan missed the chance to move top of Serie A in midweek when they were beaten 3-0 by Fiorentina in a game that had to be rescheduled after the original fixture was halted due to a medical incident. The pair are now well acquainted as they meet again just four days later with Inter looking to enact revenge for their biggest league defeat since May 2019, and having won five of their last eight Serie A home games (D3), they look well-placed to bounce straight back. [/p]
[p]The last four of those games all saw Inter net at least twice, so the prospect of blanking in back-to-back league matches for the first time since April 2023 appears slim. The second game in that sequence nearly two years ago was a 1-0 home defeat against Fiorentina, but a repeat result appears unlikely given it’s the only home H2H defeat Inter have suffered in the last nine such meetings (W6, D2).[/p]
[p]Fiorentina’s midweek H2H victory stretched their winning league run to three matches, which has been the perfect way to bounce back from their six game winless Serie A streak prior (D2, L4). Without that negative run, La Viola would probably have a strong grip on a top four spot, but instead they’re battling to stay in there, with only goal difference keeping them in fourth ahead of the round. [/p]
[p]Facing a Simone Inzaghi-managed side will perhaps throw a spanner in the works as far as staying there goes, as Thursday’s win was just Fiorentina’s third from their last 17 such matches (D3, L11). That record makes for bleak reading, and a run of just two wins from their last 14 Monday-held Serie A away games (D5, L7) won’t be a source of inspiration either. [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Inter’s Marcus Thuram hasn’t scored in five league games, and he may have to be patient to end that drought given his last four Serie A goals all arrived after the hour mark. Moise Kean netted a second-half double for Fiorentina on Thursday, but three of his four away league goals this season came before half-time.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Inter’s Serie A games have averaged a pre-round league-high 3.39 goals per match. [/p]
