Inter Milan plummeted to yet another low after their derby defeat to AC Milan last weekend, with a 2-0 UEFA Champions League loss against German champions Bayern Munich in midweek. Having been pre-match outsiders in both defeats, the sight of Torino parking up for this clash may be a relief, with the Nerazzurri enjoying a dominant league record against their fellow Serie A (SA) founder members (W71, D51, L38), spanning back to January 1930.
While the latest of those wins was an unexpectedly hard-fought 1-0 affair here at the San Siro back in December, Inter are now aiming for a seventh straight SA home win by a margin of two or more goals.
