Inter Torino prediction 2022-09-10

Inter vs Torino prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2022-09-09 16:00.
Inter Milan plummeted to yet another low after their derby defeat to AC Milan last weekend, with a 2-0 UEFA Champions League loss against German champions Bayern Munich in midweek. Having been pre-match outsiders in both defeats, the sight of Torino parking up for this clash may be a relief, with the Nerazzurri enjoying a dominant league record against their fellow Serie A (SA) founder members (W71, D51, L38), spanning back to January 1930.

While the latest of those wins was an unexpectedly hard-fought 1-0 affair here at the San Siro back in December, Inter are now aiming for a seventh straight SA home win by a margin of two or more goals. However, a return of just one clean sheet across Inter’s last five league outings overall fuels fears that any success might hinge on a star-studded front line finding their feet.

Torino visit the San Siro after defeating Lecce on Monday evening to retain their spot in the SA top half, in a game that coach Ivan Jurić was forced to miss due to pneumonia. Encouragingly for Torino though, a return of ten points to date (W3, D1, L1) is double the tally they obtained from their opening five SA rounds in 2018/19 – the last season to yield a top-seven finish for Il Toro.

Some might argue that Torino’s win over Lecce only provides a smokescreen though, with all three of their league wins to date coming against top-flight newcomers. With a 3-1 humbling vs Atalanta on their last road trip also seeing them concede two penalties, there are new-found questions to be answered over their composure away from home, although assistant coach Matteo Paro was upbeat ahead of this trip, saying “We’re going to Milan to get a result.”

Players to watch: Derby day goalscorer Edin DĹľeko has three prior goals against Torino, of which two were match openers. As for Torino, former AC Milan forward Pietro Pellegri will relish this clash, and all four of his prior SA goals have come in matches seeing both teams score.

Hot streak: None of the previous ten SA H2Hs have seen both teams score before half-time.
