Inter Verona prediction 2023-01-14

Inter vs Verona prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2023-01-13 19:45.
The upcoming Supercoppa Italiana final against city rivals AC Milan, tallied with injuries to key players, has Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi scrambling. The Inter boss can hardly afford any let-up in Serie A (SA) after a late equaliser last weekend saw them drop points against Monza (D 2-2), although he will hope that was just a blip as it was just the second time across nine league games that Inter failed to collect maximum points (W7, D1, L1).

Inter have been one of the top teams at home this league campaign (W7, L1), and having won their last four SA games here, a return to the San Siro is likely to boost their hopes of a return to winning ways. Expect Inter to start fast in search of stretching that winning run given they have opened the scoring in seven of their last eight SA home games, but also as they look to extend their unbeaten all-time SA home record against Verona (W20, D11).

Inter have been a bogey team for Verona in general, with the Yellow and Blues having failed to win a SA H2H since February 1992 (D4, L18). Relegation-battling Verona may fancy their chances of ending that run, as they arrive off the back of a 2-0 win over Cremonese on Monday in which they honoured club legend Gianluca Vialli by making it four points across two games.

With this mini-revival coming on the back of ten consecutive league losses, Verona know that they can’t afford to lose any momentum. That shutout against Cremonese now gives Verona the chance to keep consecutive league clean sheets for the first time since September 2020 but considering they’ve failed to keep a clean sheet across their last 31 away league games, and have conceded an average of 2.25 goals across their last 12 away league H2Hs, securing that feat seems unlikely.

Players to watch: Inter’s Joaquín Correa has three goals in his last four SA games against Verona and could be gunning for a starting role. Meanwhile, Darko Lazović has never scored against Inter in four previous SA games playing for Verona (L4), but should still be full of confidence after his brace against Cremonese.

Hot stat: No SA side has lost more games than Verona after scoring first this season (W1, D1, L5).
