Ipswich vs Brighton prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2025-01-15 19:30.
[p]The three teams promoted from the Championship find themselves in the bottom three of the Premier League ahead of this midweek round, but out of the trio, Ipswich Town appear the best-placed to pull off an escape act. The Tractor Boys have won two of their last five Premier League games (D1, L2) to move within touching distance of safety pre-round and now go in search of back-to-back top-flight home wins for the first time since 2002.[/p]
[p]Brighton stand in Ipswich’s way here, and history would suggest this will be a close encounter as the last three H2Hs have been drawn. This is something of a rare fixture in the top-flight as it will be the first meeting in the top tier of English football since January 1983, but Ipswich might  feel nervous of marking the occasion with a positive result given they shoulder the Premier League’s joint-second worst home record this season (W1, D4, L5).[/p]
[p]Fabian Hürzeler’s Brighton side haven’t won a league match since late November, albeit they’ve only lost two of their last ten Premier League games, with six ending in a stalemate. They finally snapped their eight-game winless run at the weekend with a big win at Norwich in the FA Cup and will hope to take that momentum into a game they enter as warm favourites. [/p]
[p]The Seagulls now have the chance to complete a swift East Anglian double, but those chances are negatively impacted by the fact all four of their league games against the pre-round bottom four this season ended level, with the south coast side surrendering the lead in three of those! In fact, Brighton’s last four league outings ended in stalemate, and another here would see them become the first team since Fulham in 2020/21 to draw five successive top-flight games. [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Sammie Szmodics has opened the scoring in the first half with all four of his Ipswich goals this season, but each of those came on the road. Brighton’s Georginio Rutter struck a brace against Norwich at the weekend and scored on this ground last season whilst playing for Leeds (W 4-3).[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Ahead of the round, Brighton have led at half-time in a joint-league high five Premier League away games this season.[/p]
