Ipswich vs Tottenham prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2025-02-21 15:00.
[p]Last week’s 1-1 draw at Aston Villa offered a glimmer of hope, but Ipswich Town still unwillingly bear the tag of the Premier League’s most out-of-form club as the only side to have won none of their last six league games (D2, L4). Manager Kieran McKenna nonetheless considered their most recent result to be a shot in the arm, not least because they had to score and then defend with ten men to obtain the point. [/p]
[p]Their success has been fleeting and intermittent at best, but a November in which they followed up a 1-1 draw against Leicester with a 2-1 win away to upcoming opponents Tottenham Hotspur is a reminder that Ipswich can string together results, even if just for brief periods. They’re on a three-game losing streak at home in the Premier League, but their last such run ended with victory over another London club (2-0 v Chelsea), so there is reason for optimism. [/p]
[p]There are also promising signs for Tottenham as their injury-plagued squad slowly recovers and rebuilds. Ange Postecoglou welcomed back James Maddison, Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert and starting goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from injury in their 1-0 win over Manchester United, whilst defender Destiny Udogie sat on the bench in anticipation of his return from a several-week layoff. [/p]
[p]Perhaps most encouraging for Tottenham outside of the injury crisis seemingly ending is that they recorded clean sheets in their first back-to-back Premier League wins since September, adding to the measly four they managed from their first 21 games of the season. Their next challenge is to register their first competitive win over Ipswich of the 21st century (L4) and it’s one Postecoglou could be especially invested in after he publicly blamed himself for the shock loss in the reverse H2H back in November. [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Look out early for Ipswich’s Sammie Szmodics, who opened the scoring before half-time with five of his last six competitive goals this season including the reverse H2H. Similarly, Maddison registered Tottenham’s first goal in his last five scoring appearances across all competitions. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Tottenham have scored a league-high 12 goals within the opening 15 minutes of Premier League matches this season. [/p]
