Jamaica Venezuela prediction 2024-07-01

Jamaica vs Venezuela prediction: SOUTH AMERICA: Copa América betting tips on match 2024-06-30 00:00.
[p]After departing at the group stage in their two previous Copa América appearances, it’s not proven to be third time lucky for Jamaica who have already been eliminated from this year’s tournament ahead of the final round of fixtures! The Reggae Boyz have now lost all eight of their fixtures in the competition across the 2015, 2016 and 2024 editions, but they did at least manage to find the net for the first time in their 3-1 loss against Ecuador on Wednesday. [/p]

[p]With only pride to play for in this final outing, Heimir Hallgrímsson’s side are up against a Venezuela side who are already through to the quarter finals with a 100% record. Their opposition also won the most recent H2H 1-0 in the 2016 edition, however, as Jamaica had won two out of the three previous H2Hs and, with their opponents also potentially resting players ahead of the next stage, this could be a good time to meet them.  [/p]

[p]Reaching the last eight is nothing new for Venezuela, who have now got this far in four of the last six Copa América’s and even progressed as far as the semi-finals in 2011. They could make history in this game to really top off their performance though, as across their 19 previous attempts in either the South American Championship or Copa América they’ve never won more than two matches in the same tournament. [/p]

[p]Head coach Fernando Batista called for his squad to “remain calm” after their 1-0 victory over Mexico on Wednesday. Considering it was their goalkeeper who took the Man of the Match award in that win, and their other three points came against Ecuador who played with ten men for over an hour, they’d be wise to heed that advice. That said, these are exciting times for Venezuela who came into these championships without a win in five (D3, L2) and now need just a point to guarantee top spot in the group.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Michail Antonio will forever have the title as Jamaica’s first ever goalscorer in a Copa América fixture but he’s still yet to score and win in the same game for his country (D2, L2)! Venezuela veteran Salomón Rondón has contributed to a goal in both matches at this tournament (G1, A1) and has now scored five times in his last six games for club and country.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: None of Venezuela’s last 16 games have witnessed more than three match goals.[/p]
