Juventus Salernitana prediction 2022-09-11

Juventus vs Salernitana prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2022-09-10 18:45.
Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat at PSG in Europe means Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus are yet to win an away fixture in all competitions this season (D2, L1). Whilst just two wins in their opening five league games doesn’t necessarily equate to a catastrophe, the Old Lady need considerable improvement on their disappointing – albeit still unbeaten (W2, D3) – SA start if Allegri is to adhere to the high standards set by the Turin club’s directors.

Juventus’ domestic form at home stretching back to last season is likewise unremarkable, with three wins and two clean sheets in their last seven home fixtures (D3, L1) hardly representing a solid foundation with which to build upon if they are to reclaim a much-coveted SA title for the first time since 2019/20, having won the previous nine on the trot. However by this stage of last SA season Juve had already lost twice so improvement appears to have been made, and they will be heavily fancied to make a strong start here after netting the opening goal in four of their five league games this term.

Having only narrowly avoided relegation from their first SA campaign since 1999, Salernitana will be encouraged by their early form this season with just one defeat and a positive goal difference from their opening five fixtures (W1, D3). After recording a -45 GD last season, considerably the worst in the division, manager Davide Nicola will take heart from conceding just four goals in an unbeaten six-game away record stretching back to last campaign’s survival (W2, D4), a survival that was hailed as a “miracle” by the Italian media.

The Garnets will undoubtedly have their work cut out against Juventus on Sunday evening, who won both of the H2Hs 2-0 last season, with three of the four goals coming in the first half. With Juve’s strong record of opening the scoring, Nicola’s Salernitana will hope to get to the interval with a clean sheet intact, particularly as his men are unbeaten in their last eight league fixtures when shutting out the opposition at half-time (W4, D4).

Players to watch: Serbian striker Dušan Vlahović scored three goals in two home appearances against Salernitana for Fiorentina and Juventus last season. Meanwhile, Salernitana have lost just two of their 12 SA games when Federico Bonazzoli has found the net (W5, D5).

Hot streak: Juventus have failed to win their last seven league matches at home when conceding the opening goal (D2, L5).
