Las Palmas Sevilla prediction 2024-04-14

Las Palmas vs Sevilla prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2024-04-13 12:00.
[p]Las Palmas’ excellent return to Spain’s top flight has fizzled out since the turn of the calendar year, but their outstanding work in 2023 has at least ensured that their poor recent form of one win from their last nine La Liga games (D3, L5) hasn’t threatened their place in next year’s competition. Dreams of their first European voyage since 1977/78 are still alive thanks to Athletic Club’s Copa del Rey win, but are fading rapidly.[/p]

[p]Head coach GarcĂa Pimienta has had plenty of time to move on from a narrow 1-0 loss away to his beloved Barcelona on March 30th as well as solve their sudden goalscoring woes that has seen them draw blanks in three consecutive losses, including to the previously winless AlmerĂa (L 1-0). Given that all five of their La Liga wins since December came with clean sheets, and that they were held scoreless in 11 of their 13 defeats, a collective effort is needed if they wish to launch themselves back into the top half of the standings.[/p]

[p]Sevilla aren’t out of the woods yet, but a six-point cushion to the relegation zone at the start of the round is a comfortable spot to be in with eight rounds remaining. Head coach Quique Sánchez Flores could be looking up the table rather than down after a Spanish publication reported earlier this month that he would have to secure an unlikely top-half finish to have any chance of negotiating a contract extension.[/p]

[p]Despite coming in as a mid-season appointment, Flores could therefore instead aim to earn respect from potential suitors by getting Sevilla to 50 league points, which would be an improvement on last season’s haul. There has been significant improvement on the road since he debuted with a 3-0 win at Granada, most recently capped off with a 1-0 triumph at Getafe – their third La Liga away win of his tenure (D2, L3).[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Las Palmas could do with captain Kirian Rodríguez getting back on the scoresheet, as they have a near-perfect W4, D1 record this La Liga season when he scores. Similarly, Sergio Ramos delivered a goal in three of Sevilla’s last five league wins after opening the scoring in the last round.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Only 30% of games involving Las Palmas this La Liga season produced over 2.5 total goals.[/p]
