Latvia England prediction 2025-10-14

Latvia vs England prediction: EUROPE: World Cup – Qualification betting tips on match 2025-10-13 18:45.
[p]England are closing in on securing their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and a victory against Latvia in Riga will guarantee their spot.[/p]

[p]Match News and Current Form[/p]

[p]Latvia squandered a 2-1 lead to disappointingly draw 2-2 with Andorra on Saturday, and the best they can now hope for is a play-off place in World Cup qualifying (WCQ) Group K. Even that seems unlikely given the 11 Wolves have won none of their last six fixtures (D3, L3), four of which also saw them fail to score. This lack of firepower is a recurring problem at home, as Saturday’s draw was the first time Paolo Nicolato’s side had scored more than once in Latvia since beating Armenia 2-0 in October 2023 (W2, D3, L5).[/p]

[p]England eased to a 3-0 friendly win over Wales at Wembley on Thursday night and return to competitive action having won all five of their WCQ games in this campaign without conceding. A sixth will seal their place at next summer’s showpiece event, and travelling certainly won’t harm the Three Lions’s chances given they have won their last five games on foreign soil, four of which were accompanied by a clean sheet, including last month’s impressive 5-0 thrashing of Serbia. Most of those wins were convincing too, as four of them came by a 2+ goal margin, so few would bet against England rubber stamping their ticket to the 2026 finals in style. [/p]

[p]Head-to-Head History[/p]

[p]England’s 3-0 win in March was the only previous meeting between these two nations.[/p]

[p]Hot Stats and Streaks[/p]

[p]Latvia haven’t kept a first-half clean sheet in any of their last four games.[/p]

[p]Latvia earned fewer than six corners in each of their last three internationals.[/p]

[p]England won both halves in four of their five WCQ games during this campaign.[/p]

[p]England have scored 21 goals without reply across their last four WCQ away fixtures (W4).[/p]

[p]Key Players to Watch and Missing Players[/p]

[p]Vladislavs Gutkovskis netted for Latvia against Andorra and he has opened the scoring in three of his last five goalscoring international appearances. Morgan Rogers opened his account for England against Wales and he’s now either scored, assisted or been booked in each of his last four games for club or country (G1, A2, YC1).[/p]

[p]Latvia don’t appear to have any major injury concerns. England’s Ollie Watkins may be doubtful after colliding with the post against Wales, while Harry Kane may return after missing Thursday’s game.[/p]

[p]Betting Analysis[/p]

[p]Having put five past Serbia in Belgrade, England will be pushing for a similarly dominant performance here so backing them to win with a -3 goal handicap is our tip.[/p]
