Lazio AS Roma prediction 2025-04-13

Lazio vs AS Roma prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-04-12 18:45.
[p]Although almost 96 years have passed since the first Derby della Capitale, the rivalry between Lazio and Roma is still very much alive. This will be the 162nd Serie A derby, and while Roma hold both historical and recent bragging rights as they hold the better all-time record in the competition (LAZ: W42, D61, L58), things could get even worse for Lazio as they now stand to lose three successive H2Hs for the first time since 2016.[/p]

[p]Their current form doesn’t promise much respite, as despite beating Atalanta 1-0 last weekend, they followed that up with a 2-0 defeat against Bodø/Glimt in the UEFA Europa League quarter-final on Thursday, meaning they’ve won only one of their last six competitive games. There would perhaps be no better opponent against whom they could bounce back to winning ways than Roma, but four competitive home draws hint that could be tough here.[/p]

[p]After seven consecutive victories against bottom-half sides, Roma are facing a second successive game against a fellow top-four hopeful after they drew 1-1 with Juventus last weekend. The Giallorossi start this round just four points behind the top four thanks to their impressive 15-match unbeaten league run (W11, D4), with only PSG having a longer active streak in the traditional top-five European leagues.[/p]

[p]That streak has been aided by five consecutive away league wins, the last four of which all came by the same 1-0 scoreline, and although this game will be played at their home stadium, Roma haven’t beaten Lazio as the ‘away’ team since December 2016. Boss Claudio Ranieri could be the perfect person to end that run as he has won his first four derbies as Roma manager – a victory here would see him take a joint share of the lead among managers to have overseen the most wins in the history of this fixture.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: The last Lazio player to score against Roma was Mattia Zaccagni, with his penalty in Coppa Italia last term meaning he has contributed to four goals (G2, A2) across eight personal H2Hs. With his opener in the reverse fixture, Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini brought his career tally to three goals against Lazio, with all three coming in victories.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: There have been at least seven yellow cards shown in six of the last seven H2Hs, including the previous five in a row.[/p]
