Lazio Feyenoord prediction 2023-11-07

Lazio vs Feyenoord prediction: EUROPE: Champions League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2023-11-06 20:00.
You’d have to be brave to predict what Lazio team will turn up against Feyenoord after their last four results alternated between wins and defeats. The smart money would go on a win here given they went down 1-0 to Bologna on Friday night, but after boss Maurizio Sarri bemoaned his side’s lack of cutting edge in the final third afterwards, any victory seems unlikely to be convincing.

Lazio certainly displayed plenty of offensive power in the last H2H they hosted, as the Eagles ran out 4-2 victors in last season’s UEFA Europa League group stage. While Sarri’s men didn’t hit those heights in a 3-1 reverse fixture loss a couple of weeks ago to Feyenoord, he’ll be hoping they can bounce back quickly given that was their sole defeat across their last nine UEFA Champions League (UCL) group stage matches (W3, D5).

While qualification for the knockouts can’t be assured here for Feyenoord, a victory at Stadio Olimpico would see them with one foot in the last-16. Sitting top of the pile ahead of this latest round of Group E fixtures, the Dutch outfit know tipping the balance of a perfectly split record against Italian opposition (W8, D4, L8) in their favour would open up a five-point gap to third place with just two games left, as they seek a first ever UCL knockout appearance.

Worryingly in that sense, seven of those eight defeats suffered against Italian opposition came outside of their native Netherlands, and having lost at Stadio Olimpico twice last season, history is certainly against them here. They do at least come into this game on the back of a 2-1 Eredivisie win at the weekend, and considering none of their last 12 games in all competitions have been drawn, you’d expect this game to be decided one way or another.

Players to watch: Pedro’s two goals this season have both arrived in the UCL and served as the game’s last, including in the reverse fixture. Reportedly of interest to some of Europe’s biggest clubs, Feyenoord’s Santiago Giménez was also at the double in that clash when scoring either side of half-time. That’s a feat he has achieved on five separate occasions already this season!

Hot stat: Three of Lazio’s four UCL goals scored this term arrived after the 80th minute.
