Lazio vs Fiorentina prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-01-25 19:45.
[p]Lazio defeated Real Sociedad 3-1 on Thursday to reach the UEFA Europa League last 16, but it was just their third victory in seven games (D2, L2). The Biancocelesti meanwhile start this weekend fourth in Serie A, but their position is vulnerable, with recent indifferent form in the last eight league encounters (W3, D2, L3) undoing some of the positives created by winning all five of their previous matches in Italy’s top flight. [/p]
[p]That run was the last time that Lazio had registered consecutive league victories, something they could emulate here after defeating Hellas Verona 3-0 last weekend. A three-match winless run at the Stadio Olimpico in Serie A (D2, L1) would suggest they’ll have their work cut out, but playing Fiorentina there gives them a good chance of getting back on track, having gone unbeaten in the last nine home meetings (W7, D2).[/p]
[p]Fiorentina will also be highly motivated though, and could make it a first H2H double since 2012/13, having won the reverse fixture 2-1, which was also their second successive victory over Lazio. Backing that up here appears a long shot though as La Viola are on a six-game winless league sequence (D2, L4) – their worst such streak since February 2023. [/p]
[p]That is in complete contrast from a run of just one defeat from the first 14 matches of the campaign (W9, D4), but that strong early-season form is keeping Fiorentina in line for European qualification. One of the hallmarks of that period was defensive solidity away from home, something that Raffaele Palladino’s side will be looking to return to, as they have conceded five goals in their last three league trips (D1, L2) after five consecutive Serie A clean sheets on the road. [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Boulaye Dia has scored in his last two league games for Lazio and has netted more goals against Fiorentina than against any other Italian opponent despite never having been on the winning side against them. Robin Gosens was carded in his last match and also in the reverse fixture, but has scored three times in his last five Serie A meetings with Lazio, on each occasion emerging victorious when finding the net. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Before this weekend, Fiorentina are the only side yet to have conceded in the last 15 minutes in Serie A this season, while Lazio have scored a league-high 13 goals in that period.[/p]
