Lazio Frosinone prediction 2023-12-29

Lazio vs Frosinone prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2023-12-28 19:45.
Lazio won’t finish the 2023 calendar year occupying one of the six European spots in Serie A (SA), but they do have the opportunity to record back-to-back league wins for the first time since October when hosting an out-of-form Frosinone. They’ve been maintaining their aspirations with some hard-fought results at home of late, dropping points only to Roma (D 0-0) and Inter Milan (L 2-0) across their last six SA home fixtures.

On a trip to Empoli last weekend, they gained three points and some “self-belief” according to head coach Maurizio Sarri, but lost both Luis Alberto and Ciro Immobile to first-half injuries, which could force some personnel changes here. Their 17 SA strikes this SA season (excluding own goals) have been spread across nine players – seven of them through Immobile or Alberto – so Sarri will hope he will have enough candidates ready to step up should they miss out.

Frosinone’s last seven league goals were shared by seven different players, but their recent overall form has left a lot to be desired. A 2-1 home loss to title challengers Juventus was the fourth consecutive league game in which they failed to score more than a single goal, though they still remain one of the highest-scoring bottom-half clubs in the division (22).

No club has had a bigger difference between home and away performances this SA season than Frosinone, who remain winless on the road with two points from eight games a far cry from the 17 points they’ve accumulated at home. The away side haven’t exactly been disgraced, losing by more than one goal only to clubs starting this round in the top six, and could at the very least register another admirable performance here given Lazio have won at home by 2+ goals only once this league season.

Players to watch: Matías Vecino’s last 12 competitive goals for any club were all in victories, nine of which came at a home ground. Contrast that with Frosinone’s Marco Brescianini, whose two goals this season were both in away defeats.

Hot streak: All four H2H meetings between these sides produced under 2.5 total goals.
