Lazio vs Juventus prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-05-09 16:00.
[p]With only three Serie A rounds remaining, the race for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) places is hotting up, as Lazio and Juventus start this round as two of four sides from fourth to seventh separated by a single point. Lazio will fancy their chances of sneaking into fourth having stretched their current unbeaten league run to six matches with a 1-0 win over Empoli last Sunday (W3, D3).[/p]
[p]Strangely, Lazio drew all three home games in that run and won all three on the road, so a return to Stadio Olimpico may not be the blessing it may seem. They’ve actually only won one of their last ten home league games (D7, L2), with the last five such games ending level. The capital club could now draw six successive Serie A home games for the first time since 1991, but three wins across the last three home H2Hs perhaps makes Juve an ideal opponent. [/p]
[p]Juventus’ 1-1 draw against Bologna last round allowed both Roma and Lazio to draw level on 63 points, with only goal difference keeping Igor Tudor’s men in the top four coming into this round. Their position is looking increasingly precarious on the back of just two wins from their last five matches (D2, L1), but as Juventus face bottom-half Udinese and Venezia after this crucial clash, they’re still good value for a top-four finish.[/p]
[p]Their chances could take a hit here though, particularly if they can’t snap their current seven-game winless run on the road against top nine sides (D5, L2). Lazio are at least one of just two top-eight sides Juve have beaten anywhere in Serie A this season, with their 1-0 win in the reverse fixture affording them a shot at a first H2H league double since 2018/19.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: After netting in the opening minute against Empoli, Boulaye Dia has scored four of his 12 competitive goals for Lazio in the first five minutes. Khéphren Thuram netted after nine minutes last time out for Juventus and has opened the scoring in each of his three Serie A scoring appearances this term (G4).[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Lazio are the only Serie A side to see each of their home league matches this term produce 2+ goals.[/p]
