Lazio Napoli prediction 2022-09-03

Lazio vs Napoli prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2022-09-02 18:45.
An unbeaten start to the Serie A (SA) campaign (W2, D2) and a longer eight-game run in the league without defeat (W4, D4) – their best since February 2020 – may have some Lazio fans dreaming of a title tilt. Yet, conceding an injury-time equaliser against Sampdoria (D 1-1) on Wednesday perhaps tempered those fledgling expectations a little.

Lazio have won both home league games this season though, so returning to the Stadio Olimpico should give them a boost during this gruelling run of fixtures, which further intensifies once they start their UEFA Europa League campaign next week. Maurizio Sarri’s side can’t allow themselves to look too far ahead though, as Napoli are one of just two sides to beat them here across their last 14 SA home games (W7, D5).

While Napoli have collected the same number of points as their opponents from their four SA games (W2, D2) following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Lecce on Wednesday, this is their worst four-game start since 2015/16. Perhaps a lack of intensity is to blame for that, with manager Luciano Spalletti wanting to inject more pace, lamenting his side moving the ball too slowly, just as he did after their 0-0 draw against Fiorentina last weekend.

Things are looking up for Spalletti’s side here though, having generally had the better of Lazio here in recent years (W7, D2, L2), with the Napoli boss hoping quicker ball movement and less predictability can help them continue that run. Doing so would in turn extend their unbeaten four-match unbeaten away league run (W3, D1), only one of which saw a goal before the 25th minute.

Players to watch: Lazio forward Ciro Immobile has netted twice this term while two seasons ago he both scored and assisted in this corresponding fixture. Meanwhile, Eljif Elmas’ strike for Napoli against Lecce was his fifth consecutive club goalscoring appearance in which he completed his team’s scoring.

Hot stat: Four of the last five H2Hs saw at least one goal in each half.
