Le Havre vs Lyon prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-10-19 13:00.
[p]Having lost their last four Ligue 1 matches, three of which came āto nilā, Le Havre look set for another season involved in a battle at the bottom. Le Havre have now been beaten in eight of their 12 league home matches in 2024 (W4), the second-most losses on home soil of any club in the top flight this calendar year, so they are unlikely to carry much belief that things might change here.Ā [/p]
[p]Itās been a far-from-ideal start for manager Didier Digard who was appointed by the club in the summer, with five of his first seven games in charge (W2) ending in defeat. A leaky defence has been their Achilles heel so far, with only two Ligue 1 sides conceding more goals over the first seven rounds of the campaign (15), and H2H history isnāt on their side with Lyon next up, as Le Havre have lost six of their last eight Ligue 1 meetings (W1, D1).[/p]
[p]Les Gones won just one of their first six games across all competitions this term (D1, L4), but have since gone on to win each of their last four, suggesting Pierre Sage is starting to find his feet in what is set to be his first full season in charge of Lyon. In each of those last four victories, Sageās men have found the back of the net in the second half, and seven of their ten goals in Ligue 1 so far this term have come after half-time.[/p]
[p]Lyonās win at Toulouse last month brought their eighth victory in 12 Ligue 1 games on the road in 2024 (D1, L3), last winning more away matches in a calendar year in 2019 (ten). Sageās side lost at Le Havre in January, but given recent form, should be confident of adding to that tally of away victories on Sunday.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Le Havre goalkeeper Arthur Desmas has averaged over three saves per game so far this season, but has just one clean sheet to show for his efforts. Opposite number Lucas Perri has made 3+ saves in six of nine competitive games for Lyon this season, including each of the most recent three.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: There has never been a top-flight draw between Le Havre and Lyon in Normandy, with 16 previous such meetings (Le Havre: W9, L7).[/p]
