Lecce Juventus prediction 2022-10-29

Lecce vs Juventus prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2022-10-28 16:00.
A 2-0 defeat at Bologna in their previous fixture saw Lecce remain stuck on eight points after the opening 11 Serie A (SA) rounds, despite a recent positive run of only three losses across their last nine outings (W1, D5). History suggests Marco Baroni’s side appear to be in considerable trouble, as this is their joint-worst 11-game start to any of their last five top-flight campaigns, and three of the prior four led to relegation.

Still in search of their first competitive home win this season after four consecutive 1-1 draws, Lecce came close the last time they stepped out onto the Stadio Via del mare for a league game. They opened the scoring in a home league match for the first time this term, only to concede an equaliser to Fiorentina a few minutes after the half-time break.

As Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri predicted after consecutive clean-sheet SA victories, their “tough” UEFA Champions League opponents proved to be too formidable, as a 3-4 loss to Benfica during the week saw them dumped out of the competition prior to the Round of 16 for the first time since 2013/14. Not yet assured of a place in next year’s edition, Allegri cannot even dream of the record-breaking 102-point SA season that Antonio Conte steered them to on that occasion.

Allegri has declared that Juventus must now devote their attention to rescuing their league season as well as their ongoing travelling woes, particularly as they are no longer an intimidating visitor with just one win from their last ten away trips across all competitions (D2, L7) even despite beginning as favourites six times (W1, D2, L3). The Stadio Via del mare has usually been a happy hunting ground in the past as they have won five of the last seven H2Hs at the venue (D1, L1), so this could be an opportune time to bounce back.

Players to watch: Gabriel Strefezza has scored five competitive goals for Lecce this term, with three coming before the break. Visiting Adrien Rabiot netted his second seasonal double in his previous SA outing against Empoli, with each of his last three goals arriving after the 80th minute.

Hot stat: Juventus have failed to score before the break in six of their last seven SA away matches.
