Lech Poznan Bodo/Glimt prediction 2023-02-23

Lech Poznan vs Bodo/Glimt prediction: EUROPE: Europa Conference League – Play Offs betting tips on match 2023-02-22 20:00.
Lech Poznań are one victory away from reaching the last 16 of a European competition for the first time since 1993/94 after they drew the first leg (0-0) of their UEFA Europa Conference League knockout round play-off with Bodø/Glimt. Following that trip to Norway up with a 2-1 league defeat to Zagłębie wasn’t ideal preparation for the second leg, although it was just their first loss of the calendar year (W2, D3).

The reigning Polish league champions look unlikely to retain their title, given they are now 13 points off the pace, but Lech have been excellent at home in European competition this term (W6, D1), including victories by three-goal margins over Austria Vienna and Villarreal. As the Railwaymen seek to punch their ticket for the next stage, they’ll be taking nothing for granted given their mixed record at home against Norwegian clubs (W1, L1).

As the first leg was Bodø/Glimt’s first competitive game since mid-November, the 2022 Norwegian Eliteserien runners-up will be relieved to be travelling to Poland with everything still to play for as they try to emulate last season’s remarkable run to the UECL quarter-finals. They’ll have to create a little bit of history to succeed, having never beaten a Polish club in UEFA competition (D1, L2).

After taking the lead between the 40th minute and half-time of two of their three UEFA Europa League away games this term (D1, L2), their away journey has been a story of what might have been for the Yellow Horde. It’s a recurring theme for the challengers from inside the Arctic Circle as they’ve not won a European away fixture since beating Celtic at this stage last term (D3, L6).

Players to watch: Michał Skóraś netted three times between the 50th and 80th minute to help set up Lech’s last two home wins in this competition, whilst Amahl Pellegrino scored in two of Bodø/Glimt’s last three games and was on the scoresheet against Celtic last term.

Hot stat: Five of Lech’s six games in all competitions this calendar year produced a goalless second half.
