Leeds Huddersfield prediction 2023-10-28

Leeds vs Huddersfield prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-10-27 11:30.
The weekend’s Championship action will kick off with another edition of a fierce West Yorkshire derby, as Leeds United prepare to host Huddersfield Town for the first time since March 2020. The home side will start as heavy favourites even after their disappointing 1-0 loss to Stoke in midweek, as they had pieced together an impressive three-game winning run prior to that.

Daniel Farke’s men also sit in a much comfier position in the league table, heading into the round sat in third place, and will now look to cement their top-six place back at Elland Road where they’re undefeated this season (W4, D3), with victories in each of their last three home league contests. The Whites also boast the psychological edge of having claimed a league double over their local rivals when the sides last shared a division in 2019/20 (both 2-0 wins).

Huddersfield were also on the losing side in mid-week as they suffered a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Cardiff. Manager Darren Moore claimed it was just “a bad night at the office” for his men, which you could argue is an understatement with the defeat representing Huddersfield’s joint-heaviest loss across the past two-and-a-half years.

The Terriers had lost only one of their eight games prior (W3, D4), so it’s important Moore doesn’t let the nature of that loss derail the good work his side have been doing, especially as they’re still dangling just one place above the relegation zone coming into the round. But it’s worth noting that taking on local rivals has lit an added fire in the belly for Huddersfield in recent times, who have lost just two of their last 14 league Yorkshire derbies in league play (W8, D4).

Players to watch: Crysencio Summerville is proving himself a clutch player for Leeds, since he’s scored the last goal of the game in six of his last seven goalscoring outings. He’ll go H2H with Huddersfield defender Michał Helik, who carries an attacking threat of his own, especially on the road where his last four goals have arrived.

Hot stat: Only two of the last 20 H2Hs between these two sides have ended in a draw.
