Leganes vs Celta Vigo prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2024-10-26 13:00.
[p]Following their promotion from the second-tier, it looked like Leganés were going to sail through this campaign without any relegation worries when they picked up five points from their opening three games. It’s been hard work for Los Pepineros ever since, with no victories and four defeats (D3) ahead of Celta Vigo’s arrival this Sunday.[/p]
[p]In total, Leganés’ winless run now stands at eight games, scoring only three times in that sequence. Their record at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque doesn’t inspire much confidence either as they have failed to score in their last three La Liga games here (D1, L2), but relief could be on the line as Celta visit, as Leganés have only won more La Liga matches against Espanyol (four) than Celta (three).[/p]
[p]Celta were also quick out of the traps this campaign, taking six points from their first two matches, but they have gone off the boil as well with their subsequent eight fixtures producing only seven points (W2, D1, L5). There were signs of a turnaround following a draw with Girona and a victory against Las Palmas in back-to-back games, but the Sky Blues couldn’t maintain their upturn in form and went down 2-1 at home to Real Madrid last weekend.[/p]
[p]There were extenuating circumstances for Los Celestes in that defeat though, not least as the influential pair of midfielder Ilaix Moriba and all-time club leading goal-scorer Iago Aspas were both suspended. Their return in this clash will be a big boost for manager Claudio Giráldez and could be just what Celta Vigo need as they look to get their first win in Leganés (D1, L2) since the 2016/17 season.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Dani Raba marked his return to the Leganés starting XI with an assist last weekend and he registered two assists in his only career start against Celta. Aspas scored in both H2H fixtures during the 2019/20 campaign, the last time these teams were in the same division, and he has already contributed to six goals this season (G4, A2).[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Eleven of Celta’s last 13 La Liga games saw both teams score.[/p]
