Leganes Espanyol prediction 2025-05-11

Leganes vs Espanyol prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-05-10 12:00.
[p]It’s approaching crunch time for Leganés, who sit in 19th place and four points from safety ahead of the weekend. Having not won any of their last eight La Liga matches (D4, L4), it’s hard to see any way in which they can haul themselves out of the drop zone, but just two losses from their last six home league outings (W1, D3) will perhaps provide some hope of securing a positive result against Espanyol.[/p]

[p]Three successive league draws certainly haven’t helped their cause, particularly given they surrendered the lead in two of those games, but they can take some heart from the fact they’ve never previously had four consecutive stalemates in their top-flight history. While that would hint at this game being decided one way or another, it could be a tight contest given the last five Leganés games to see a winner were decided by a one-goal margin (W1, L4). [/p]

[p]Falling on the right side of tight margins may be tricky for Espanyol, who haven’t won any of the last three away encounters (D1, L2), failing to score in all three. That’s Espanyol’s worst-ever away H2H run without a goal or win, but with safety all but assured with a seven-point cushion to the bottom three pre-round, even a continuation of that streak wouldn’t be a disaster.[/p]

[p]Although their spot in next season’s La Liga is all but assured, they’ll want to put an end to a rough patch which has seen them lose their last two consecutive La Liga games, as many defeats as in the 14 prior. Another strong start could help them snap their losing run as Espanyol having only conceded one first-half goal across their last ten away league games. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Leganés’ Munir El Haddadi has struck goals in consecutive La Liga games for the first time since February 2021, while Roberto Fernández has three goals from his last four La Liga away outings, and his six goals from his first 15 Espanyol appearances is only bettered by Borja Iglesias and Joselu Mato (eight) in the competition this century. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Since the start of 2025, no team has dropped more points than Espanyol (16) and Leganés (13) from winning positions in the league.[/p]
