Leganes Rayo Vallecano prediction 2025-01-31

Leganes vs Rayo Vallecano prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-01-30 20:00.
[p]After digging in to secure a goalless draw at Athletic Bilbao last weekend, Leganés are on the verge of going four La Liga games unbeaten for the first time this season (W1, D2). By opening matchday 22 up against Rayo Vallecano, they also have a chance to pull even further clear of the bottom three, with the gap currently standing at three points.[/p]

[p]Their last home fixture saw them end AtlĂ©tico Madrid’s long unbeaten run by beating them 1-0, meaning that Estadio Municipal de Butarque has seen some great results in La Liga this term with Celta Vigo and Sevilla also beaten ‘to nil’ here. The Cucumbers also won the only previous top-flight H2H without conceding, albeit that was back in October 2018 (W 1-0).[/p]

[p]Vallecano eventually suffered relegation that season but times have changed as after beating Girona 2-1 on Sunday, only Bilbao (12) now have a longer current unbeaten streak in La Liga than theirs (W3, D4). European qualification is a target for the side led by Iñigo Pérez, one of only two managers in the division younger than his Leganés counterpart Borja Jiménez (40).[/p]

[p]The 37-year-old has guided the Red Sashes to a four-match unbeaten sequence in La Liga away games (W1, D3), the last three of which all ended 1-1; another stalemate would see them draw four in a row for the first time since a run of four straight 2-2 draws ending in February 2016! Vallecano will hope for better than that, particularly having won their last visit here 2-1 in a promotion play-off semi-final in June 2021, when Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola was in charge.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: LeganĂ©s defender Matija Nastasić has a goal and a booking across his last three appearances, notably heading the winner against AtlĂ©tico. Vallecano midfielder Unai LĂłpez used to play for LeganĂ©s and having already netted against Real Madrid this term is now seeking to score against another Madrid-based side.[/p]

[p]Hot streak: Leganés are the only side yet to lead a La Liga home game at half-time this term (HT: D7, L3).[/p]
