Legia vs Molde prediction: EUROPE: Conference League – Play Offs betting tips on match 2025-03-12 20:00.
[p]Legia Warsaw were once a mainstay in the latter stages of continental football, but 29 years have passed since they last reached the quarter-finals of a UEFA tournament. The Militarians have it all to do if they are to end that run and become only the second Polish club this century to reach the quarter-final of a European competition, after a 3-2 defeat to Molde in the first leg of their UEFA Conference League last-16 tie.[/p]
[p]Having fallen 3-0 down before half-time, a second half rally means Gonçalo Feio’s men remain in the tie, with that continuing a trend that has seen seven of their last eight goals come after the break. Legia have also won three successive home matches by a two-goal margin, but hopes of qualifying are tempered by the fact they have now lost their last three games in this competition despite scoring in each.[/p]
[p]Molde will be looking to extend that run, and they travel to Poland unbeaten in five previous H2Hs (W3, D2), including a 3-0 away success that secured a Conference League last-16 spot just last season. The Norwegians have only picked up one victory on the road in this competition since then (D1, L3), beating Shamrock Rovers 1-0 in the previous round.[/p]
[p]That also ended a run of five matches without a win on their travels across all competitions (D2, L3), with Per-Mathias Høgmo’s side worryingly failing to score three times in that sequence. History suggests Molde have every chance of progression regardless, as they have come out on top in 13 of the previous 14 two-legged European ties in which they won the first leg on home soil.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Last week’s first leg marked the first time Luquinhas has lost when finding the net since 2017/18, with each of his six scoring appearances for Legia ending in victory. Magnus Wolff Eikrem may be Molde’s best hope of turning the tie around, as he has 32 direct goal contributions in his last 58 appearances in European football (G15, A17).[/p]
[p]Hot streak: Legia’s last six games in the Conference League have all seen over 2.5 goals. [/p]
