Legia Zrinjski prediction 2023-11-09

Legia vs Zrinjski prediction: EUROPE: Europa Conference League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2023-11-08 17:45.
Legia Warsaw came back from a goal down to defeat Zrinjski Mostar on matchday three of the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL), a result that helped them move top of Group E. As if that wasn’t enough to build belief, back-to-back wins in domestic competitions since should mean confidence is high of securing three points which would keep them top ahead of a trip to their nearest challengers, Aston Villa, in the next UECL round.

While topping the group is the ultimate goal, winning here would significantly boost their chances of at least achieving a first knockout berth in UEFA competition since 2014/15. Having started from the second qualifying round, Kosta Runjaić’s side will bank on their impressive home record in this UECL campaign (W3, L1), a run which includes a matchday one win over Aston Villa in their only such game of the group so far.

Zrinjski responded to their matchday three defeat by going unbeaten in domestic competitions afterwards (W2, D1). With all four teams in Group E tightly packed, a win here could see the Bosnian champions replace Legia in the top-two spots, in a massive boost to their knockout chances in what is their maiden group stage appearance in a UEFA competition.

Whatever happens, the visitors shouldn’t go down without a fight, as they displayed on matchday one when they came back from three goals down at half-time to win 4-3 against AZ Alkmaar. Away form remains a big hurdle to overcome though, as the visitors have won just once on the road in this competition (D1, L2), which perhaps goes some way to explain their heavy outsider odds.

Players to watch: Blaž Kramer scored Legia’s winner in the reverse fixture and has since followed it up with three goals across three matches. One of the more likely scorers for Zrinjski, Nemanja Bilbija scored their only goal on the last matchday and netted their opener in both their league games since.

Hot stat: Three of Legia’s four UECL home games have seen the match opener arrive within the first 20 minutes.
