Leicester Bournemouth prediction 2023-04-08

Leicester vs Bournemouth prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2023-04-07 14:00.
After the sacking of Brendan Rodgers, Leicester would’ve been hoping for a case of 'new manager bounce' to aid in preserving their top-flight status this season. That wasn’t to be for caretaker boss Adam Sadler in his first game in charge, as his team lost 2-1 to Aston Villa in midweek to leave Leicester two points from safety.

Usually a return home would give the Foxes the boost they need, but optimism among the King Power Stadium faithful might be subdued having watched their team slump to six defeats in their last eight home Premier League (PL) matches (W1, D1). Now preparing themselves to face Bournemouth, Leicester have fresh reason for trepidation having lost each of their last three PL meetings with newly-promoted opposition.

Bournemouth aren’t faring much better than their hosts, as they’re only one place and two points better off after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Brighton last time out. Despite that loss and subsequently occupying the relegation zone, Gary O'Neil’s men have improved what was once seemingly a dire situation, having avoided defeat in half of their last eight league matches (W3, D1).

That should give them some much needed confidence heading into this ‘six-pointer’ with the team directly below them, as they aim for a first league-double over Leicester since the 1988/89 season following their 2-1 success in the reverse H2H. That would require their first-ever PL win at the King Power Stadium after five failed attempts (D3, L2) and wins on the road have been scarce recently, with only one in their last 12 away assignments (D2, L9).

Players to watch: Leicester desperately need their PL top-scorer Harvey Barnes to come to their aid again, having scored in three of his last four home PL starts. Meanwhile Bournemouth’s Philip Billing will be confident he can add to the goal he scored in the reverse fixture, considering six of his last eight goals have come away from home.

Hot stat: Leicester have lost six league games this season after scoring first, the most among teams in Europe’s top-five leagues.
