Leicester Norwich prediction 2024-04-01

Leicester vs Norwich prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2024-03-31 11:30.
[p]As a club that looked near-certainties for automatic promotion back to the Premier League two months ago, Leicester City’s fall out of the top-two has been rapid and dramatic. It’s not even as though they can attribute their recent run of one win from six Championship games (D1, L4) to a difficult schedule, with only one of those six opponents (L 3-1 Leeds away) starting this round in the top eight.[/p]

[p]Awaiting them in April are four matches against clubs striving for a position in the play-offs or better, so they can ill-afford to continue struggling, especially with some of their fellow challengers in much better form. Leicester were in the midst of winning 13 of their first 14 games of this Championship season when visiting next opponents Norwich City (W 2-0), so could be vulnerable to the result being reversed after a pair of 2-1 losses in their last two league home outings (v Middlesbrough and QPR).[/p]

[p]Norwich are behind only top-two Leeds and Ipswich when it comes to form over the last several rounds, which should further fuel their belief that they can avenge September’s loss to Leicester. Ironically, that immediately followed a horrific trip to Plymouth Argyle (L 6-2), and they were able to exorcise the nightmares of that loss with a come-from-behind 2-1 home win over Plymouth at the weekend.[/p]

[p]Head coach David Wagner declared it to be “the day” that any lingering doubts about Norwich’s top-six credentials should be put to bed. A 3-0 thumping of Stoke City in their last Championship away outing was also an emphatic statement, but with their away record (W5, D5, L9) still deep into the bottom half of the ‘away standings’, there’s more work to be done on the road. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Stephy Mavididi has won seven of his nine goalscoring appearances across all competitions for Leicester this season, with seven of those nine games seeing him score after half-time. Josh Sargent continues to be a phenomenon for Norwich, scoring in each of their last eight league wins (albeit seven of them at home). [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Leicester and Norwich both started this round in the top six for average total goals per game (2.84 and 3.23 respectively).[/p]
