Leicester QPR prediction 2024-03-02

Leicester vs QPR prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2024-03-01 15:00.
Despite finding themselves ahead at half-time away to Leeds United last time out in Championship action, league leaders Leicester City eventually suffered a 3-1 defeat in that top-of-the-table clash as their grip on top spot softened just slightly. That result made it successive league defeats for just the second time this season, with both sets of losses ironically coming against Leeds and Middlesbrough, though a midweek 1-0 extra-time victory against Premier League Bournemouth did see the hosts progress to the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Even despite that minor league blip though, the Foxes still command a six-point lead at the summit and a return to the King Power Stadium should deliver more success. That’s because Enzo Maresca’s side have lost just three of their 17 home league outings this campaign (W13, D1), whilst conceding just 11 times across those fixtures combined – the fewest of any side in the division.

That won’t exactly come as music to the ears of visiting QPR, who this season have netted just 13 goals on their league travels, the joint-second fewest in the competition. That said, they will still travel in high spirits after they struck twice in the second half to defeat Rotherham at the weekend (2-1), a result which subsequently saw them finish the round outside the Championship relegation spots.

There’s also the silver lining that the R’s have enjoyed their trips lately, losing just one of their last four league away matches (W2, D1) which has helped them to become just one of a few Championship sides to have taken more points on the road than at home this term. That’ll leave manager Martí Cifuentes confident of continuing his recent revival of the visitors then, as they look to improve on their dismal record of recording four losses across the last five H2Hs (W1).

Players to watch: Leicester’s Stephy Mavididi has netted 10 Championship goals this term, five of which have acted as the match opener, including one in the reverse H2H (W 2-1). QPR could look to Chris Willock for inspiration after he scored his fourth league goal of the campaign at the weekend – three of which came after half-time.

Hot stat: Only Sheffield Wednesday have received more red cards in the Championship (five) than QPR’s four – one of which came in the reverse H2H.
