Lens Strasbourg prediction 2025-02-16

Lens vs Strasbourg prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-02-15 16:15.
[p]After recording two Ligue 1 victories without conceding, Lens were hit with a dose of reality last weekend as they were easily beaten 2-0 by Nice. Conceding either side of half-time, as well as seeing defender Facundo Medina sent off  midway through the second half, manager Will Still will be desperate for his side to respond here as they begin the round sat just outside the top six on goal difference. [/p]

[p]A return home won’t necessarily be welcome, as Lens have won just four of their ten home Ligue 1 matches so far this campaign (D2, L4). Their main problem across those games on home soil has been an overall lack of scoring as the Blood and Gold have struck just ten goals in total, a figure only relegation-threatened Le Havre have managed fewer than ahead of the round. [/p]

[p]What will give the home fans a boost at least is the fact that visiting Strasbourg have failed to win any of their last five Ligue 1 H2Hs (D2, L3), though their recent form in the French top-flight has improved dramatically of late. A 2-0 win over struggling Montpellier last time out made it five league wins in seven for the visitors (D1, L1), as many victories as across their prior 21 matches combined! [/p]

[p]That stands them in good stead for more success here, especially as they begin this round just three points shy of their opposition thanks to that recent points haul. Before this round, no team had won more matches in Ligue 1 so far in 2025 than Strasbourg (4) as they aim to compete in European competition again for the first time since 2019/20.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Lens’ Adrien Thomasson has a strong record against Strasbourg, recording five goal contributions across six career meetings with the Alsace side, including an assist in the reverse fixture. Habib Diarra netted for Strasbourg in that match and could be their dangerman again here as eight of his last ten strikes have come on the road. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Only eight of Lens’ 21 Ligue 1 games this season have seen both teams score – a league-low tally. [/p]
