Lille Angers prediction 2022-11-13

Lille vs Angers prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2022-11-12 14:00.
Lille boss Paulo Fonseca was unable to hide the frustrations of a 1-1 home draw with Rennes, describing results as “infuriating” and not reflective of how his side have played. It seems the Portuguese boss may not be wrong considering his men registered 34 attempts on goal in comparison to facing a combined eight across the last two rounds (D1, L1).

Despite their wobbling form, Les Dogues are still six points better off than at this stage of last season, meaning that competing for the European places is still a sensible and realistic aim even if they cannot enter the winter break higher than seventh. Continuing their solid home form will provide a strong base for Lille (W3, D1), although they may need a couple of goals here after failing to keep clean sheets in eight of their last nine home league games.

A demoralising 1-2 defeat against Lens in the previous round was Angers’ sixth straight league defeat. Just 12 months ago, Angers had drawn 2-2 with Lens to provisionally move into sixth place, a season start described by boss Gérald Baticle as a “revelation”. Fast forward to November 2022 and the under-fire Baticle could equal the club’s all-time longest top-flight losing streak should they fail again here.

A considerable injury list hasn’t helped Angers’ cause and it’s hard to make a case for them stopping the rot here following a desperate run of just three wins across their last 25 away league games (D10, L12). They can at least take solace from the fact that they’re unbeaten in three-quarters of their away league trips to Lille (W8, D7, L5), but that’s a record under serious threat this time around.

Players to watch: Without the goal contributions of Qatar-bound Canadian Jonathan David (G9, A3), Lille would be 11 points worse off. In stark contrast, three of the four games that Adrien Hunou contributed to goals in this season ended in defeat for Angers.

Hot stat: Angers were losing at both half-time and full-time in five of their last six league games.
