Lille Toulouse prediction 2023-11-12

Lille vs Toulouse prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2023-11-11 14:00.
On the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw in Slovakia against Slovan Bratislava on Thursday night in the UEFA Europa Conference League, Lille must pick themselves up in an attempt to keep their five-game unbeaten Ligue 1 run going (W3, D2). Thatā€™s in keeping with Paulo Fonsecaā€™s sideā€™s impressive start to the season, where they have lost just two of their opening 11 in the league (W5, D4).

Having won four of their five home league outings this season ā€˜to nilā€™, Les Rouges will be delighted to return to the Decathlon Arena where they have lost just one of their last 21 home league matches (W16, D4), winning nine of the most recent ten. The only blip on that largely pristine record was a 2-1 loss to Reims, which is still their only loss in any competition from September onwards.

You get the feeling that Lille may well have their work cut out this weekend though against a Toulouse side riding the crest of a wave having beaten Premier League giants Liverpool 3-2 in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night. That win could well be the shot in the arm that Les Violets need, currently battling to steer clear of the relegation spots having failed to win any of their last four in Ligue 1 (D2, L2).

To end the week on another high, Carles MartĆnez Novellā€™s men will need to improve upon a woeful travelling record against Lille, losing on ten of their last 12 (W2) visits, failing to score in eight of those. Having taken charge ahead of this season, Sunday will be the Spaniardā€™s first-ever game in the dugout against Lille where heā€™ll hope beginners luck is the order of the day.

Players to watch: Edon Zhegrova has assisted Lilleā€™s last three home goals and he also set up the winner last time these two sides met. Toulouseā€™s Rasmus Nicolaisen was shown a yellow card in that game, just as he was against Liverpool in midweek.

Hot stat: Only Nantes (five) have conceded more penalties than Toulouse (three) in their opening 11 games of the campaign.
