Lithuania Gibraltar prediction 2024-03-26

Lithuania vs Gibraltar prediction: EUROPE: UEFA Nations League – League C – Play Out betting tips on match 2024-03-25 17:00.
[p]After a rare away win in the first leg (W 1-0), Lithuania host Gibraltar for the second leg of this UEFA Nations League relegation play-out with a slender advantage after a hard-fought game in which both sides finished with ten men. Despite claiming just a single point during the group phase (D1, L5), Lithuania should feel confident of avoiding defeat in order to stay in UNL League C against a side ranked more than 60 places behind them in the FIFA rankings.[/p]

[p]Still, their first meeting with Gibraltar brought some joy last week, and as the higher-ranked team they enjoy the advantage of playing the second leg at home, where they’ve drawn three of their last four fixtures (L1). Another stalemate would suffice, but as five of their last six home internationals (D4, L2) saw both teams score, Edgaras Jankauskas’ side may yet give their fans a few nervous moments.[/p]

[p]Gibraltar may lack the firepower to get on the scoresheet as Thursday’s defeat was their 11th in a row, all of them ‘to nil’, so they must offer more attacking threat than they managed in the first leg. However, they could be forgiven for lacking some team cohesion on the pitch after Gibraltarian clubs initially refused to release their players for national duty![/p]

[p]That appears to have left them behind in their preparation, which is far from ideal as they try to win as the away side for the first time since beating Liechtenstein 1-0 in October 2020 (D2, L16). As Los Llanis have now lost each of their last 13 such fixtures, while conceding an average of 4.85 goals per game, a swift return to League D seems likely.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: After netting the winner in the first leg, Armandas Kučys (LIT) has scored in each of his last three appearances for club and country, twice between the 55th and 80th minutes. Roy Chipolina scored two of Gibraltar’s last three international goals, both of them first-half match openers, albeit way back in November 2022![/p]

[p]Hot streak: At least five yellow cards were shown in each of Lithuania’s last five competitive internationals (W1, D2, L2).[/p]
