Lorient Nice prediction 2022-10-30

Lorient vs Nice prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2022-10-29 16:05.
The good times keep rolling for this season’s Ligue 1 surprise package Lorient, after coming from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Troyes to extend their unbeaten run of league games to eight, their best since an identical run back in 2012! Only once have Lorient enjoyed a longer run of unbeaten top-flight games, and they’re now just three games shy of that coveted club record.

What makes this even more impressive is the fact this is manager Régis Le Bris’ first season in senior management, with the eyebrows of other clubs already being raised by his exploits. A major area of improvement has been Lorient’s home form, and they’ve now accrued as many points across their last five home games (W4, D1) as they did in the 14 prior (W3, D4, L7).

Nice are one of the sides reportedly keeping tabs on Le Bris’ swift rise to managerial stardom, but it is Lucien Favre who remains at the helm for now despite overseeing the club’s joint worst Ligue 1 start across the last decade (W3, D4, L5). They are unbeaten in three league games though (W1, D2), and qualifying for the knockout phase of the UEFA Europa Conference League in midweek will have further boosted confidence.

Playing away from home won’t bother Nice too much either as they’ve picked up 62% of their Ligue 1 points on their travels (W2, D2, L2) and are in a minority of sides performing better on the road. Even when unfancied by the bookmakers, Nice can hold their own just as they’ve shown when going unbeaten in 12 of their last 19 league matches as outsiders (W6, D6), whilst they’re also unbeaten in four of their last five league visits to this venue (W1, D3).

Players to watch: Lorient will miss their top-scorer Terem Moffi through injury here, so may look to the likes of Ibrahima Kone – his two goals this season both altered the final result (W1, D1). As for Nice, Nicolas PĂ©pĂ© has scored important goals in four of his last six appearances, two of which opened the scoring.

Hot stat: Lorient are averaging a league-high 1.75 points per game when conceding the opener (W2, D1, L1).
