Luton Rotherham prediction 2022-11-12

Luton vs Rotherham prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-11-11 15:00.
Mick Harford will take temporary charge of Luton this weekend after they were thrown into chaos by the departure of long-serving boss Nathan Jones, who has taken the reins at Southampton. The Welsh manager had been given permission to speak to the Saints before Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat to Stoke, a result he took full responsibility for by accepting it was a “distraction”.

It is no surprise that Jones has been headhunted by a Premier League team, given the Hatters are within touching distance of the Championship top six after a run of just two defeats in 12 outings (W5, D5). They’ve been particularly tough to beat at Kenilworth Road where they are undefeated in half a dozen outings, but with three of those games ending all square (W3), they’ll know they need to start picking up victories if they are to repeat last season’s run to the play-off semi-finals.

Supporters might not hold too much hope about picking up three points against visitors Rotherham however, as Luton have managed just two wins in eight H2H clashes (D3, L3) since the start of the century. The Millers also make the long journey down the M1 full of confidence after a 1-0 victory away to Sheffield United on Tuesday, their first win at Bramall Lane since 1980!

That success was a huge boost to new manager Matt Taylor, who says his side “got exactly what we deserved” as they ended a run of three straight defeats. Rotherham’s form on the road remains a concern though, as they have picked up just two wins on their travels in ten league matches (D4, L4), while only two teams in the division have scored fewer than their total of seven away goals.

Players to watch: Luton defender Amari’i Bell has only kept one clean sheet in five H2H meetings with Rotherham, but has also registered just one defeat (W2, D2, L1). Rotherham will look to even up that record possibly with the help of Dan Barlaser, who has already equalled a season-best tally of six assists this campaign, although he’s never beaten the Hatters in four attempts (D1, L3).

Hot stat: Rotherham have scored 16 first-half goals this season – a total bettered by only two Championship teams.
