Mallorca Alaves prediction 2025-03-02

Mallorca vs Alaves prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-03-01 17:30.
[p]Mallorca have revived their push for European qualification after starting 2025 poorly, stretching their current unbeaten run in La Liga to three matches thanks to an injury-time equaliser in Monday’s 1-1 draw with Sevilla (W1, D2). Once again, Jagoba Arrasate’s side lacked rhythm early on, a recurring issue highlighted by a record of scoring in the first half of only one of their last seven league games (HT: W1, D2, L4).[/p]

[p]They’ve still prospered at home despite those sluggish starts, particularly when playing sides below them, with the Pirates unbeaten here against those starting this round ninth or lower this term (W4, D2). That’s encouraging as they host struggling Alavés, and so too is their unbeaten record in La Liga home H2Hs (W6, D3), giving Mallorca at least two reasons to be confident of more success at Son Moix.[/p]

[p]While bottom side Valladolid have lost touch with the rest of the division, 19th-placed Alaves remain in touch with safety, making survival a realistic possibility with several clubs hovering above them. Rediscovering winning form is essential, as they’re now winless across their last five league fixtures (D2, L3), with all three of those defeats coming via narrow 1-0 scorelines and tellingly their last five losses were all by one-goal margins![/p]

[p]Alavés actually won the previous H2H 1-0 in November, but their continued struggles away to Mallorca hint at a tricky evening here given they haven’t won an away H2H since May 1975 (D5, L12). It could be a close-fought game regardless as only one of the last 12 H2Hs anywhere produced more than two goals, but one ray of hope for Alavés is their resilience on the road where they’ve lost only one of their last five league fixtures (W1, D3).[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Vedat Muriqi has scored three times across Mallorca’s last three fixtures and three of his last four competitive goals came before half-time, as did his only previous strike against Alavés in April 2022. Although all three of Carlos Vicente’s league goals for Alavés this term came at home, all three of his assists arrived on the road after the 65th minute.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Alavés have collected exactly two yellow cards in four of their last five La Liga fixtures (D2, L3).[/p]
