Mallorca Barcelona prediction 2022-10-01

Mallorca vs Barcelona prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2022-09-30 19:00.
It has been a see-saw ride for Mallorca in La Liga (LL) this term but the prospects of extending their two-campaign top-flight stay look good after losing only one of their last four games (W2, D1, L1). That lone 4-1 defeat helped Real Madrid climb to top LL standings and another defeat here in this fixture would do the same for opponents Barcelona, for a day at least.

Coach Javier Aguirre will have unpleasant memories of that Madrid loss and a repeat could well be on the cards against their Clásico rivals given the well-travelled coach has lost his last 13 matches against Barça! He should be able to bank on a fighting performance at least as Mallorca have scored exactly once in their three LL home games this campaign, making it seven straight home league games that they’ve found the back of the net.

The international break gave an injury headache to Barcelona with key players picking up knocks. With the crucial visit of Inter Milan to revive their European campaign and an El Clásico on the horizon, manager Xavi could be challenged as he looks to extend a five-game league winning run and keep up the pressure on Real Madrid. The confidence of notching their best six-game start in terms of points (16 – W5, D1) since 2017/18 could be crucial in helping the visitors charge towards a tenth straight top-flight H2H win.

Barça have been unbeaten on the road in LL for nearly a year and have started this league campaign with three straight away wins, scoring 3+ goals in each. Morale is therefore sure to be high in the away dressing room and few would back against Xavi’s men preserving their six-game away win streak at Mallorca which stretches all the way back to March 2010.

Players to watch: Scorer of Mallorca’s latest winner, Pablo Maffeo could be playing his 100th LL game and will look to make it sixth time lucky against Barcelona (L5). Meanwhile, Barça’s Ansu Fati will look to add to his four LL contributions this campaign (G2, A2), all of which came on the road.

Hot streak: Barcelona were ahead at half-time in each of the last nine H2Hs, all of which they went on to win.
