Marseille Nantes prediction 2025-03-02

Marseille vs Nantes prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-03-01 19:45.
[p]Marseille’s dream of lifting the Ligue 1 title this season has dissipated in recent weeks, as just three wins in their last six league games (D2, L1) has seen a giant gap open up to leaders PSG. Their last outing was perhaps their lowest point of the campaign after they were reduced to ten men and eventually comfortably beaten 3-0 by Auxerre, allowing the teams behind them to catch up and challenge them for second spot.[/p]

[p]The Phocaeans are expected to bounce back and fend off those chasing them, since they’ve not lost back-to-back Ligue 1 matches since April 2024. Extending that record is certainly a realistic prospect at home, where Marseille are unbeaten in six in Ligue 1 (W4, D2) following their terrible return of just one win from their opening five such matches this season (D2, L2).[/p]

[p]Making the trip to the south of France are Nantes, who were getting dragged into the relegation scrap following consecutive league defeats but gave themselves some breathing room with a 3-1 win over Lens last weekend. Nantes lifted themselves to 14th place in Ligue 1 with a five-point buffer over the bottom three prior to the weekend, and can now secure successive league wins for only the second time since October 2023.[/p]

[p]It’s been even longer since the Canaries enjoyed a win over Marseille, against whom they’re winless in the last nine H2Hs (D2, L7) after a 2-1 defeat in November’s reverse fixture. Boss Antoine Kombouaré certainly won’t hold too much hope for that negative record ending here as he possesses a horrible return of just four wins in 30 previous managerial meetings with Marseille (D4, L22).[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Amine Gouiri has registered five goal contributions in his four matches since signing with Marseille (G2, A3), meaning he’ll be in fine form to add to the six (G3, A3) he has in nine previous career league appearances against Nantes. In response, the visitors will be leaning on Matthis Abline, who has scored seven of his nine goals this campaign on the road. [/p]

[p]Hot streak: Marseille’s last seven home league matches, and Nantes’ last seven away league matches, have seen both teams score. [/p]
