Millwall Coventry prediction 2023-11-25

Millwall vs Coventry prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-11-24 15:00.
Millwall ended their five-game winless run prior to the international break with a thumping 4-0 win away to basement club Sheffield Wednesday. That sees them come into the round six points behind the play-off places and ensured there was a positive mood over the break as new manager Joe Edwards looks to put his stamp on the side. Maintaining momentum appears to be the first thing on his agenda, especially as the Lions haven’t won consecutive league games since March!

Contrary to common belief, it probably adds to their discomfort that they return to action at The Den, where they have won just a solitary point across the last four league games (L3). In search of an improvement to that run, Millwall will probably be happy to line up against Coventry City, having lost only two of their last 20 home league H2Hs (W11, D7) including a 3-2 win in this corresponding fixture last season.

Coventry went into the international break on the back of a goalless draw against Stoke City, which although underwhelming, did at least end a run of four straight losses. Only five points above the relegation zone, last season’s beaten play-off finalists have plenty of work to do if they’re to replicate that top-six finish. A lack of goals is certainly hindering them, as four scoring blanks across the last five league games would support.

The Sky Blues have at least netted in five of their last six H2Hs which could be a good omen, but they’ll need more than just omens if they’re to improve upon a dismal away league record this season (W1, D2, L5). Three of those defeats have come on the bounce, casting doubt over their chances of posting consecutive H2H wins, having won the last encounter 1-0 in February.

Players to watch: George Saville scored in Millwall’s last win and should be looking forward to this match, having netted three times across his last five personal league H2Hs. One of those was a winner in the 3-2 result at The Den last season, a game where Matthew Godden scored and assisted Coventry’s goals to give them a 2-0 lead.

Hot streak: Millwall received the first card of the match in the last ten H2Hs.
