Millwall Ipswich prediction 2024-02-14

Millwall vs Ipswich prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2024-02-13 20:00.
Millwall’s seven-season stay in the Championship is starting to come under serious scrutiny as they continue to struggle for form. Conceding twice in the space of three minutes in a 2-1 loss to Coventry left Joe Edwards’ men without a win in five league matches (D1, L4) and just four points clear of the drop zone at the end of the last round.

The Den has historically been a stronghold for Millwall, but their paltry haul of 16 points on their own turf is better than only Rotherham and QPR in the division – both of whom currently reside in the relegation places. To make matters worse, of the Lions’ four home league wins this season, three of them came against sides in the bottom-five of the table – not the best of omens ahead of the visit of top-four Ipswich.

Kieran McKenna’s men will be desperate to take advantage of their beleaguered hosts as they look to rediscover their early season form. Ipswich have won just one of their last nine Championship matches (D6, L2), yet there are no signs of their trademark resilience waning after they twice came from behind to snatch a dramatic draw against West Brom on Saturday.

Such is the form of Southampton though, Ipswich find themselves four points adrift of the automatic promotion places pre-round. Ending a four-match winless league run on the road (D2, L2) would go some way to closing that gap, as would tightening up the leakiest defence in the top-eight (GA: 40). That looks unlikely ahead of this trip however, as the last three H2Hs on this ground yielded 14 total goals (IPS: W2, L1).

Players to watch: Millwall have scored just three times in their last five matches, but forward Zian Flemming has had a direct hand in all of them (G1, A2). January signing Kieffer Moore netted twice on debut in Ipswich’s last road trip (3-2 L v Preston) and the Welshman has scored three times across eight personal H2Hs (W3, D4, L1).

Hot stat: Millwall have opened the scoring in ten of their 15 home league games, yet no side in the division have earned more points from losing positions than Ipswich’s 22.
