Millwall Norwich prediction 2023-03-04

Millwall vs Norwich prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-03-03 15:00.
The battle for the top-six spots looks like it could go to the death with Millwall sitting just two points above their seventh-placed visitors ahead of the round. Gary Rowett’s men perhaps showed some nerves as they dropped a two-goal lead at Luton Town in a 2-2 draw in midweek, although that at least extended their unbeaten run to four (W2, D2).

The Lions have been more assured at The Den however, highlighted by an 11-match unbeaten league run here (W6, D5). The last time Millwall managed so many league home games without defeat was back in 2017/18 (13), and considering their eighth-placed finish that season was a joint-club record in the Championship, it goes to show the scale of the task if they want to reach the heights of top-flight football for the first time since 1989/90!

Also on a four-game stretch without a loss (W3, D1), Norwich City may feel they are well placed to deal Millwall’s promotion push yet another blow given they have triumphed in seven of the last 11 H2H Championship meetings (D3, L1). Another win would see the Canaries leapfrog their hosts, and considering they have won five of the eight league contests David Wagner has been in charge so far (D1, L2), you wouldn’t rule out Norwich doing so.

Wagner stated he "was proud of the commitment" shown by his team in their 2-0 triumph over Cardiff City last time out, but they'll need to fix some patchy league away form (W2, D1, L2) if they’re to ignite their promotion charge in South London. A repeat of the previous defensive solidity they’ve shown against Millwall could be key, as Norwich haven’t conceded a single goal in the last three H2H meetings (W1, D2).

Players to watch: Lions’ striker Tom Bradshaw likes to bare his teeth at The Den, having netted six goals in his last four league appearances here. Norwich’s Brazilian Gabriel Sara might feel it’s his time to shine however, as he’s secured three goal contributions from his last four appearances (G2, A1) including a strike last time out.

Hot streak: Millwall haven’t lost a Championship home game after striking first since June 2020 (W25, D7)!
