Millwall West Brom prediction 2022-10-22

Millwall vs West Brom prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-10-21 14:00.
Millwall host West Brom in what is set to be a fierce encounter, with the managerless visitors reportedly pursuing Millwall boss Gary Rowett as a permanent replacement for the recently-sacked Steve Bruce. West Brom winger Jed Wallace, who swapped Millwall for the West Midlands last summer himself, seems to relish the prospect of a fiery contest here after responding to a Millwall fan on Twitter, who had told the forward to expect jeers upon his return, with "90 mins dog's abuse please, followed by a clap after the game".

Millwall pose a serious threat, particularly at home, where they have won six of their eight league games so far this term (L2). That is a joint-high home win tally in the league, and it was Watford’s turn to suffer a mauling in the Lion's Den last time out as Millwall ran out 3-0 winners after pouncing within the first 15 minutes for the third successive home game, leaving them just a point adrift of the Championship play-off spots.

It’s not so bright in the Black Country, where interim West Brom boss Richard Beale’s initially positive start was dented by a 2-0 defeat to Bristol City last time out, marking their fourth defeat in seven league games (W1, D2). The Baggies now sit in the relegation zone, having made their worst start to a Championship season in terms of both wins (two) and points total (14) after 15 games played.

That measly win total is also a league low, and West Brom have played at least a game more than the teams below them so the pressure is ramped up ahead of this clash. The Baggies may be boosted by a 2-0 triumph at Reading on their last away trip however, which was their first travelling victory of the season, and may be eager to avenge Tuesday’s loss to Bristol City which Beale described as ‘’gutting’’ for his players.

Players to watch: Millwall’s Tom Bradshaw grabbed a first-half hat-trick in their emphatic 3-0 win over Watford, and also netted the game’s opening goal in their 2-1 triumph over Bristol City last weekend. Making his return to The Den is West Brom’s Wallace, who grabbed an assist the last time he featured in this fixture, but wearing Millwall colours!

Hot stat: West Brom have drawn a league-high eight Championship games this term.
