Monaco vs Angers prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-10-31 18:00.
[p]Monaco have surrendered top spot in Ligue 1 in recent weeks thanks to a mini two-match rut (D1, L1), losing 2-1 against Nice last weekend in what was their first league defeat of the season. Hopes should be high that they can bounce back on home turf, where they haven’t been beaten in any competition since February, piecing together a 13-match unbeaten run since (W9, D4). [/p]
[p]Concerningly, they’ve proved penetrable on home soil of late, conceding exactly once in five of their last six Stade Louis II outings. They’ll hope for an improvement on that front when Angers come to town as Monaco have won the last seven H2Hs, with all four home wins within that run coming ‘to nil’, although they are interestingly winless in their last seven Friday-held Ligue 1 games (D3, L4). [/p]
[p]That’s a silver lining for Angers to cling onto, but they should come into this clash with some confidence of their own having won their first league game of the season last weekend. They beat Saint-Étienne 4-2 on home turf, and despite what their lowly league position might suggest, they actually come into this fixture having lost just one of their last six in Ligue 1 (W1, D4, L1).[/p]
[p]There is one major obstacle for Angers here, and that’s the fact they’ve won only one of their last 33 Ligue 1 away games (D9, L23). The last three of those all ended 1-1, so Angers will believe they’re close to ending their 19-match winless top-flight away run (D5, L14), although a run of just one win in 32 Friday-held Ligue 1 games (D11, L20) is sure to dampen that optimism. [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Breel Embolo has scored in back-to-back Monaco games for the first time since February 2023, with both goals arriving before the break. Watch out for a late Bamba Dieng impact as he’s closed the match scoring on his last seven club scoring appearances. All eight of his goals in that time came after the break. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Four of Monaco’s five home league games this season stood level at half-time (HT: W1).[/p]
