Monaco Brest prediction 2024-11-22

Monaco vs Brest prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-11-21 18:00.
[p]While two recent defeats against Nice and Angers had a damaging impact on their Ligue 1 title aspirations, second-placed Monaco did show a good response in their two outings since, following a UEFA Champions League win over Bologna with a 3-1 success at Strasbourg. Those two aforementioned defeats have seen Adi HĂĽtter’s men fall six points behind leaders PSG, but they could claw some of that back – at least temporarily – here against Brest.[/p]

[p]Monaco’s win over Strasbourg came thanks to three quick-fire goals in the final 11 minutes of regular time. That’s been a theme of their performances this season, as not only did they also score in this period against Bologna, but seven of their 18 league strikes this season have arrived in the final 15 minutes of matches – no side has scored more such goals in the division.  [/p]

[p]Brest head to Monaco in the same inconsistent form that has plagued a lot of their campaign so far, with each of their past five matches across all competitions producing a different final result (W2, D1, L2). Both wins in that streak came on the road though, so they might be confident of causing an upset and putting some daylight between themselves and the relegation zone, which they sit just three points clear of ahead of kick-off. [/p]

[p]Yet to achieve that target, the visitors need to shake off Monaco’s psychological hold over them, with each of the past five H2H meetings ending in defeat for Brest. The Pirates netted just once across the last four of those, and as only five sides in Ligue 1 have managed fewer shots than their 126 so far this term, the omens are certainly not good as they come up against what is statistically the division’s meanest defence (GA: 8). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Takumi Minamino grabbed a home brace for Monaco last month, and netted for Japan against Indonesia over the international break – he also scored the second in the most recent H2H (2-0). Brest striker Ludovic Ajorque has scored a joint-career high five goals against Monaco, although his side on the day won neither of his last two scoring H2H appearances (D1, L1).[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Monaco (16) and Brest (14) rank second and third for the most set-piece goals scored in Ligue 1 this season. [/p]
