Monaco Lens prediction 2024-09-01

Monaco vs Lens prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-08-31 13:00.
[p]Sunday’s Ligue 1 action gets underway with a mouthwatering clash between two of the four sides who have made a perfect start after two rounds, Monaco and Lens. That’s an impressive continuation of the end of 2023/24 for Monaco, who are now on a four-game run in the league without conceding a goal, their longest such streak since a six-game sequence at the tail end of 2020/21. [/p]

[p]Impressively, Monaco’s watertight backline actually managed to hold Lyon to just one shot on goal last time out – that was Lyon’s lowest number of attempts in a league one game since such data started to be recorded (2006/07). Looking ahead, it’s worth noting Monaco boss Adi HĂŒtter also boasts a perfect winning record against Lens (W3), meaning the Austrian has faced no side more often on the touchline with a 100% record[/p]

[p]Lens have had less time to prepare for this clash after their midweek UEFA Conference League qualifier out in Greece, but they can now return with their full focus on Ligue 1 matters. Much like their hosts, Lens have begun the league season with a pair of wins ‘to nil’, though you’d have to look back to 2022 to find the last time they won three straight games at this level without reply. [/p]

[p]Playing away brings with it its own challenges as despite finishing seventh last time around, Lens ended the season having accrued 20 away points, only one of which came in their final four outings of the campaign. They did beat Angers in gameweek one on their travels though and new manager Will Still has won both of his personal away H2Hs against Monaco. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Monaco’s 19-year-old forward Eliesse Ben Seghir got off the mark for the season in the previous round, meaning all seven of his Ligue 1 strikes came in victories whilst six came beyond half-time. At the other end of his career is Lens’ 33-year-old forward Florian Sotoca, who scored against Monaco in the cup last year and hit the opener in five of his six scoring league appearances in 2023/24. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Lens have won just one of their last nine league games in which they were the pre-match betting outsiders (W1, D2, L6). [/p]
