Monaco Lorient prediction 2024-03-17

Monaco vs Lorient prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-03-16 14:00.
[p]On the back of three wins from their last five league games (D1, L1), Monaco are pushing hard to be the best of the rest in Ligue 1 behind runaway leaders PSG. All three of those wins came on the road though, and home form remains a concern for Adi Hütter’s side, who are now winless in five league games at the Stade Louis II (D2, L3), although a 0-0 draw against PSG in their last such game did at least hint they may be turning a corner.[/p]

[p]A draw won’t suffice against lowly Lorient, but history would suggest that’s maybe the most likely outcome as four of the last seven top-flight H2Hs ended level (MON: W2, L1). Monaco will hope that’s not the case though, and with a 100% winning home record against sides like Lorient who start this round 13th or lower, they do tend to excel here against the strugglers. [/p]

[p]And Lorient are struggling, at least as far as the table suggests, as they come into this round just one spot above the relegation play-off spot. But don’t be fooled by their lowly league position, as they’re actually one of the division’s form sides, racking up four wins from their last six league outings (L2) including three on the road. [/p]

[p]In fact, they stand on the brink of a little piece of history here, as having won their last three top-flight away outings, they could win four on the spin for the first ever time. Whatever happens in their quest for history, expect entertainment regardless, with Lorient’s Ligue 1 games this season averaging a league-high 3.2 goals per game pre-round, while Monaco are just behind with an average of 3.16 per game![/p]

[p]Players to watch: Eliesse Ben Seghir was Monaco’s game winner against Strasbourg last weekend in what was his first scoring appearance for the club to feature fewer than five total goals! Watch out for a fast start from Lorient’s Mohamed Bamba, who opened the scoring in each of their three successive away league wins.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Lorient haven’t kept an away league clean sheet in their last 11 matches. [/p]
