Monaco Nantes prediction 2022-10-02

Monaco vs Nantes prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2022-10-01 15:05.
After a poor start to the season, three consecutive victories have lifted Monaco into fifth ahead of this round, as they pursue qualification for the UEFA Champions League group stage. The nature of their recent domestic results is particularly encouraging, beating Lyon and Nice, while holding Paris Saint-Germain to an impressive draw at the Parc des Princes.

Manager Philippe Clement has overseen an impressive transformation in his side’s defensive performances too, conceding just two goals from their last five outings in all competitions, after conceding nine in the three games prior to that run. There’s also plenty of optimism to be found from Les Monégasques’ recent H2H record, not losing any of the last eight Ligue 1 meetings (W6, D2).

Things are not quite so positive for Nantes, with the Canaries not exactly flying high in 15th and just a point above the relegation zone after eight rounds. Since lifting the Coupe de France, a run of three wins from 14 competitive outings (D5, L6) has taken some gloss off their first trophy in 21 years, and maybe the juggling act of European and Ligue 1 duties is already taking its toll.

However Antoine Kombouaré’s men have struggled on the road for a long time now, with their last successful road trip being April’s victory over Clermont Foot (D4, L5 since). Travelling to the Stade Louis II is hardly comforting either, as Nantes’ last victory at this ground came back in October 2012, when both sides were in Ligue 2!

Players to watch: Monaco striker Wissam Ben Yedder has enjoyed facing off with Les Canaris, losing just one of his ten personal H2Hs. For Nantes, winger Moses Simon is the club’s joint top-scorer this season, and his last four goalscoring appearances have seen him net his side’s final goal.

Hot stat: Fifty percent of Monaco’s games in Ligue 1 this season have featured a red card.
