Monaco Reims prediction 2025-02-28

Monaco vs Reims prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-02-27 19:45.
[p]Last week was a forgettable one for Monaco as they were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) by Benfica and then beaten 2-1 by Lille in Ligue 1. Still facing a fight to return to European action next term, they host Reims to kick off matchday 24 hoping to improve on their current position of fifth, which is unlikely to be enough to return to the UCL.[/p]

[p]The Monégasques have lost two of their last three in the top flight (W1) but should be confident at home where they’ve won five of their last six in the league (L1), including a crushing 7-1 win over Nantes. That was their biggest victory margin in a league game since January 2023 but Adi Hütter’s side would take any triumph here given they’re winless across the last five home H2Hs (D2, L3), losing each of the last three.[/p]

[p]That record could provide a badly needed confidence boost for Reims, whose 1-0 defeat to Rennes last Friday saw them slip to 15th, one place and three points above the bottom three. As manager Samba Diawara continues to search for his first league points since replacing Luka Elsner (L4), they now have the longest active winless streak in league action across Europe’s  traditional top five divisions (D5, L7)![/p]

[p]The Red and Whites have only scored once in Ligue 1 under their new boss and that lack of goals continues to let them down away from home. They haven’t netted more than once in any of their last five away league fixtures (D2, L3) although the last time they drew a blank here was in April 2019, so they at least have a small historical omen on their side. [/p]

[p]Key battle: Mika Biereth has scored seven times across Monaco’s last three home league games, with six of those goals arriving between the 50th and 70th minute. Reims defender Nhoa Sangui will have to be disciplined to try to stop him as he’s picked up bookings in two of his last four league appearances.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Only PSG (nine) have won more home Ligue 1 games when starting as favourites than Monaco this term (W8, D2, L2).[/p]
