Montpellier vs Lille prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-11-30 14:00.
[p]Bottom of the table and having conceded the most goals of any side across the traditional big five European leagues so far this season, Montpellier host Lille on Sunday in what will be their 600th Ligue 1 home fixture. La Paillaide will become the 21st side to reach that milestone and do so with an improving record at the Stade de la Mosson where they’ve won two of their last four games (L2) in the league, as many as in their previous 15 such games combined (D8, L5)![/p]
[p]There have also been positive developments at the back for Montpellier, who have only conceded one goal in each of their last three games (W1, L2), after leaking two or more in each of the previous eight. There’s further work to be done by manager Jean-Louis Gasset though, as his side are still without a clean sheet across their last 18 Ligue 1 fixtures.[/p]
[p]The arrival of Lille, who have scored in 11 of their last 12 games (W7, D5) across all competitions, could well see that run extended then. Although this fixture did end as a goalless draw back in January, a result which ended a run of five successive H2H wins for the Mastiffs, it also maintained their dominant H2H record from 2018 onwards (W8, D4) as another positive result looks likely.[/p]
[p]After a 2-1 UEFA Champions League win in Bologna on Wednesday, a result which stretches their unbeaten record away from home to six games (W4, D2), Lille will make another long journey south for this fixture. They do so in high spirits as Bruno Génésio’s side begin this gameweek in fourth place, only one point behind Marseille in third, as they bid to break into the top three for the first time since 2020/21. [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Arnaud Nordin has scored three of Montpellier’s last six goals but has not won any of his last 11 H2Hs against Lille, contributing only one assist along the way! Rémy Cabella has contributed to eight goals (G2, A6) across 12 Ligue 1 H2Hs against Montpellier and has lost on only one of five visits (W3, D1) to the Stade de la Mosson.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Lille have trailed at half time in just one of their last six away games.[/p]
